RX102 AND R5.1
Before a team can focus on pace, strategy, or setup, it must answer a simpler question: is the fuel in the tank legal for the event?
VP Racing blends both RX102 and R5.1 to FIA fuel specifications. Rather than adapting a general-purpose racing fuel to rally competition, each blend was developed to give competitors a compliant, consistent foundation they can verify against the rulebook before arriving at the service park.
RX102 is a FIA-compliant 102 RON racing fuel developed for a broad range of motorsport applications, including rally, circuit racing, and motorcycle competition.
R5.1 was developed alongside M-Sport specifically for Rally2 and R5 competition, creating a fuel tailored to the requirements of modern turbocharged rally engines.
Different applications. The same objective: giving competitors one less variable to think about when the stage begins.
WHAT THE SPECIFICATION ACTUALLY BUYS
Most teams think about fuel in terms of performance. Officials think about fuel in terms of compliance. That's why FIA specifications matter. A fuel can perform exceptionally well and still be the wrong choice if it doesn't align with the regulations of the class being entered. By blending fuels to published FIA requirements, VP Racing gives competitors confidence before the first stage begins.
The best fuel in the world cannot help a team that never clears technical inspection. As always, competitors should verify fuel requirements with their sanctioning body before race day.
PERFORMANCE DOESN'T MATTER IF THE FUEL DOESN'T ARRIVE.
A specification only matters if teams can access the product when they need it. RX102 and R5.1 are stocked within Europe and supported by VP Racing's regional distribution network, allowing teams to purchase the same fuel whether they need a single drum for a local rally or a pallet for a full-season program.
That's the difference between a fuel listed in a catalogue and a fuel available when competitors need it. The formulation may be developed in the laboratory, but race-day confidence depends on supply just as much as chemistry.
MORE WEATHER IN A WEEKEND THAN A CIRCUIT SEES IN A SEASON.
Rally competitors face changing roads, changing temperatures, changing altitudes, and changing weather conditions throughout a single event. Fuel shouldn't be one of them.
VP Racing blends to a published specification and maintains consistency from batch to batch. The objective isn't simply to produce a compliant fuel, it's to produce one that behaves predictably whether it's being used in Finland in autumn, Spain in spring, or anywhere in between.
The same drum in March and September is the whole point. When competitors trust the fuel, they can focus on the variables they can't control.
RALLY2, AND THE COMPETITORS IT SERVES.
R5.1 takes its name from a competition category, not a marketing number. Rally2, formerly known as R5, sits at the heart of modern customer rallying. It powers national championships, regional championships, and international competition across Europe, creating a category where consistency, availability, and compliance matter just as much as outright performance.
Developed alongside M-Sport, R5.1 was engineered around the requirements of these vehicles and the teams that run them. It's not a fuel built for a single event or a single team.
It's a fuel developed to support the competitors who make up the backbone of European rallying.
THE FUEL SHOULD BE THE VARIABLE YOU'VE ALREADY REMOVED.
Rally teams have enough challenges to manage changing conditions, evolving road surfaces, weather, setup, and strategy. The fuel shouldn't be another one.
That's the advantage of blending to a known specification and delivering the same product batch after batch. When competitors unload at the service park, they know what they're working with. Not because the fuel is unknown, it isn't.
When performance is measured across hundreds of kilometers and multiple stages, confidence in the fundamentals becomes a competitive advantage of its own.
